A session of cleansing techniques as detailed in tradition will be followed by meditation and an awakening session of asana and pranayama to encourage pranic energy flow through the body leading upto Surya Namaskara welcome of the sunrise.

Breakfast with Herbal tea prepared as per individual body-constitution and weather will be followed by theory classes to understand the physical practices that are undertaken and the scientific rationale applied to them.

Theory of yoga, its philosophy and therapeutic science, and Ayurveda and its method of application make up the subject matter.

Lunch will be prepared with involvement in the cooking methods and understanding individual characteristic and doshic quality of the ingredients being used. It will be enjoyed at the peak hour of the Sun so as to utilize the fiery energy for good digestion. The main purpose is sharing the feeling of oneness through a sense of community with other participants, thus making the meal complete and nourishing to every kosha-level: from the physical to the astral body. Every meal will be special with the application of the principles of Ayurveda.

Post lunch relaxation, engage the astral plane through Yoga Nidra practice and then employ the mind’s faculty to assimilate further information with a sharing of knowledge interactive chat over evening tea, termed ‘chai chatsang’. More relaxed study will encouragingly lead to another intensive asana practice which will prepare you for a wind-down as the sun lowers in the skies. Early dinner followed by chanting or singing of hymns will gradually merge the mind with the hour of dusk as birds return to their nests and the moon prepares to take centerstage. The practice of mauna(silence) is encouraged to quieten the mind and it will be followed by a nightly ayurvedic routine and meditation to prepare for restful sleep.

Outdoors

There is plenty to explore and learn outside of the classroom: Nature is the best teacher and it is to her that we will turn for inspiring treks over forest, village, mountain and valley, refreshing yourself in the fresh cool waters of the Ganga or bathing in the hot water springs, thus coming to rediscover our inner nature through the outdoor explorations.

"If places were books, Netala would be that rare timeless classic sitting on a hard-to-reach shelf, in a less-frequented aisle of a quaint bookshop that only incorrigible bookworms make their way to. No snazzy cover jacket to grab eyeballs, no stellar reviews announced on its back cover, no catchy tagline, no hashtag-endorsed popularity, not even a shred of well-deserved pride displayed for admiration. Just unassuming dust-laden covers holding between them a world that could enchant and devour anyone who stepped in. An exterior that couldn’t possibly have hinted at the grandeur inside. Much like the harsh terrain that precedes this well-kept secret of a village.

Eighty-five kilometres from Gangotri (the source of the Ganga) and eight kilometres north of Uttarkashi, Netala stands a world apart from the world outside. A small Himalayan village right on the banks of the Ganga with no networks, no tourist traps, and a skyfull of unadulterated crisp mountain air. And the ice-cold waters of the Ganga (known as Bhagirathi here) roaring past mountains elegantly dressed in lofty trees of every green. Home to roughly a thousand people and their animals, it has the air of a place that somehow stayed true to what nature had intended for it, long before it got marked on a map. The reassuringly sturdy Siror bridge, the Sivananda ashram and the villagers’ humble abodes being the few signs of human occupation dotting its terrain." -
The Better India

Rishikesh is a town in the Dehradun District of Uttarakhand state in India situated at 365 meters above sea level in the foothills of Garhwal Himalayan Range and surrounded by the Shivalik range. Rishikesh is 35 kms far from Haridwar, 90 Kms from Mussoorie, 25 Kms far from Jollygrant airport Dehradun, and 240 kms far from New Delhi. The town has a spectacular view of jungle-clad hills and also is the confluence of River Ganges and Chandrabhaga. The glorious attraction of Rishikesh is none other than the great river Ganges herself, running rapidly throughout the city. Rishikesh has known as an abode of sage Raibhya who meditated here and invited the grace of Vishnu as Hrishikesh Narayan- who gives control over the senses. Since ancient times, yogis, rishis, sages and sannyasis have been attracted to Rishikesh to practice yoga in this peaceful location. Rishikesh is a holy town with many Ashrams and is famous world wide and  is now popularly known as the Yoga Capital of the world. Rishikesh is also known as gateway to the Char Dham pilgrimage: the four holy shrines on the hills (Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri). Thousands of people arrive every year to Rishikesh for spiritual relief, peace, yoga, adventure and to take a dip in the holy Ganges for salvation. The famous among them were Beatles, Kate Winslet and many other celebrities. It is believed that by a dip in the holy river Ganges and meditating in Rishikesh one attains "Moksha" (liberation from the cycle of death and rebirth). Apart from spirituality, Rishikesh is also a hub for adventure activities such as rafting, camping, trekking and bungee jumping. There are ashrams, centers for Yoga, Meditation, Ayurvedic Massage and astrology.
